Getting Started
Welcome to the OGCR documentation. OGCR is an open-source, geospatial carbon accounting system for Europe — a stack that turns satellite and field data into verifiable, market-ready carbon records. This page is your map of the ecosystem.
What's inside
| Area | What it is | Start here |
|---|---|---|
| Geodata cube | Pan-EU SOC / AGB / peat baselines (10 m & 30 m) | Data Products |
| OGCR API | Normative REST API & JSON schemas aligned with the CRCF | System Architecture |
| On-chain registry | ERC-721 projects + ERC-6551 batch accounts | System Architecture |
| Digital identity | EBSI Decentralised Identifiers & Dynamic Entities | System Architecture |
| Reference app | MVP dashboard (LandMetric) for exploring cadastral data | Codeberg |
Where to go next
- Understanding the data? Start with Data Products and Land Mask & Resolutions.
- Building or validating against the standard? Read the File Naming Convention and System Architecture.
Explore the reference implementation
The OGCR consortium maintains a reference API server (FastAPI + OpenAPI) with a bundled test suite. A typical local run:
bash
# 1. Start the reference API server
cd api-spec/server
pip install -r requirements.txt
uvicorn app.main:app --host 0.0.0.0 --port 8000 --reload
# Interactive docs: http://localhost:8000/docsbash
# 2. Validate an OGCR document (PDD / MRV)
cd api-spec/tools
pip install -r requirements.txt
python spec_checker.py --file ../examples/valid_pdd.jsonRunning the smart contracts
The on-chain registry uses Foundry. Install Foundry, then:
bash
forge install
forge test
./erc6551_demo.shContribute
